Leadership & Coordination
- Preside over all board and executive committee meetings
- Set meeting agendas and ensure advance notice to all members
- Delegate duties and responsibilities to maximize board effectiveness
- Appoint committee chairs (subject to board approval)
- Ensure the board has the resources needed to succeed
Strategic Planning
- Prepare the annual chapter calendar including board meetings, general meetings, fundraisers, events, and programs
- Assist with annual budget preparation and program fee recommendations
- Work with the Communications Committee to develop and implement a Communications Plan
Chapter Operations & Compliance
- Monitor chapter invitations and ensure timely responses to unfilled invitations
- Oversee submission of quarterly reports, assessments, and required forms to the National Office
- Ensure treasurer submits annual audit to National Treasurer
- Preside over spring and fall general meetings
Representation & Advocacy
- Attend the Annual Meeting & Conference/CISV In Motion as our official representative
- Vote on Board of Directors slate of officers
- Champion chapter interests at the national level
- Attend regional Chapter Development Workshops and encourage board participation
Community Building
- Serve as an ambassador for CISV—know the organization inside and out
- Build relationships with CISV families and actively recruit new members
- Encourage and solicit financial support for chapter-hosted programs
